The clients desired a contemporary looking bathroom, which was still in keeping with
the design and classic overtones of their home. Storage and the introduction
of a larger vanity where important due to lack of functionality of the
existing space. The door was re-hinged ensuring the full focus to be on the
wall incorporating the custom made wall hung vanity, the large mirror and the
textured feature tile. This also allowed for the toilet to now be repositioned
behind the door - out of view. The bath was placed under the window
with an elevated ledge along its length and width. This introduced a storage
area while bathing, decreased the chance of water splashing onto the original
window frame, but also gives the impression that the bath is sunken into
the wall and floor. 33x47 white wall tiles are used on the remaining walls.
With planning, this size ensured minimal joints on the bath face, ledge and remaining wall. |
